MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK 1100 P/P

Murchison Falls National Park-Covering 3,480sq.km. Murchison falls conservation area comprises of Murchison falls national park, Bugungu and Karuma wildlife reserves. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with Hippos, and crocodiles, waterbucks. The vegetations characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife here includes; lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribi, Uganda cobs, hyenas, different primates and a variety of bird life. Kaniyo Pabidi is an un disturbed area of natural forest within Budongo Forest reserve where you can walk beneath mature mahogany and ironwood trees. Chimpanzee tracking is the most famous activity in the area, but there is wide range of others primate and Birdlife. The birds includes, White thighed hornbill, Puvel’s illadopsis found nowhere in East Africa national parks. Rabongo forest is surrounded with Savannah grasslands and is not very far from Paara the park headquarters. Spotting primates black, White and black colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons and others more. Murchison national park offers opportunity to explore the wild on foot. A trail at Paara winds through riverine forest, gullies and low hills and quietly observed Rabongo forest for Birds and primates look, Kaniyo Pabidi for Chimpanzee and also Birds watch. In Paara one of the highlights of a visit is the launch trip organized from Paara to the foot of Murchison Falls. Hippo, Crocodiles, Buffalos, waterbucks and a variety of bird like Heron, Kingfishers, and shoebill. A trip also could be organized to the Delta where Victoria Nile engorges into the Lake Albert. Sport fishing, available catching a Big Nile perch or a Tiger fish could be a memorable experience to anglers. Others wise game drives are very attractive during early morning and later afternoon.
